Description:
This is a new rug in a Persian Formal design after the pattern of
Persian rugs made at the turn of the century. This is a city/formal rug
as compared to the country/tribal rugs available on the site. The colors
are generally darker and more muted than the tribal rugs and the
patterns are are more intricate and have greater coverage. These rugs
have either a medallion or an all-over pattern.
The pile is 100% Manchester wool
with a polish that lends a slight sheen to the fibers. The pile is also
hand knotted. The dyes are high
quality and mostly natural and the weave is good and tight. Common
colors in these rugs are dark red, eggplant, black, and ivory. The rugs
have a short fringe that is stained to look antique and the ends are
professionally overcast to protect them
from future wear.
We do
not use low quality components (old wool and cheap dye) which
you always see in inexpensive department store rugs or most of the new
rugs being sold eBay. The appearance of our
rugs will actually be enhanced the more they are used. This
cannot be said of those using cheap wool and dye. Our rugs have
zero damage, defects, or repairs.
